Special Events Planned

Additional seminars, created and moderated by professionals from other countries, will be held throughout the show.

First Time Design Award

The grand prizewinner of the Monaco Luxe Pack Design Award, an international competition introduced this year for young package designers, will be announced at a special evening reception held on Friday, Oct. 24 at Monaco’s Hotel de Paris.

Five preliminary competitions were held in the United States, France, Germany, Italy and Brazil. Professional designers, working in any business sector from one to five years, were invited to enter the competition by submitting a concept for a perfume bottle with secondary packaging, with the theme, Monte Carlo Dream. A jury of executives chose the finalist from each regional competition. The finalist from each region then received the equivalent of e2,000 (approximately $2,000) to create a three-dimensional model of his or her design, as well as travel expenses and accommodations during the final competition.

The work of the five finalists will be on display during the show in Verriere Hall of the Grimaldi Forum. The grand prizewinner of the Monaco Luxe Pack Design Award, which will be announced at the Friday evening event, will receive e10,000 (approximately $10,000) as well as a trophy designed by a famous sculptor.
